HISTORY OF THE ROOM
Afyonkarahisar was located on a second degree important road from the 16th century Anatolian roads. Our Afyonkarahisar province was one of the fully developed trade centers of Western and Central Anatolia, together with Ankara, Konya, Tokat, Niğde, Kütahya, Bergama, Tire, Antalya and Kayseri. The most important common feature of these cities was that they had large bazaars built by foundations. At the same time, production was carried out in these places as well as trade. It is known that there were artisans operating in 129 different sectors in our city during the Ottoman period. Many travelers coming to Afyon province mention that Afyonkarahisar's commercial life has developed and great distances have been covered, especially in business lines where handicraft predominates. Especially with İzmir, where the trade life developed, It is stated that the jewelry industry and the manufacture of wire inlaid walking sticks are very famous. It is mentioned in various sources that our city has a great potential in the production of shirts, sheets, aba carpets, kilims, felt and ancient weapons.
